Welcome to the Jiu Livre Grapplin Office! Meet our esteemed Professor, Jarbem Ferreira Pacheco. Born in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil on May 20th, 1983, Jarbem has cultivated a deep-rooted love and dedication for the grappling arts.

Jarbem embarked on his martial arts journey at the young age of 18, training in Luta Livre under the tutelage of Marcus Goes and Renato Ferreira. His relentless dedication and commitment took him all the way to the United States where he received his black belt from Nicolas Renier.

However, his pursuit of martial arts mastery did not stop there. Concurrently, he trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Guilherme Correia. He started teaching Luta Livre and coaching MMA in El Paso, Texas in 2016. A year later, he moved to the vibrant city of New York, where he studied under Eduardo Santos, imparting his knowledge of Luta Livre to both adults and kids until he attained his brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

The culmination of Jarbem's journey was his promotion to Black Belt under the prestigious Paulo Miyao in 2022. Throughout his journey, he has amassed numerous prestigious accolades, including Pan American No Gi, Pan American Gi, and World's Medalist in his weight class and absolute. Additionally, he has won several IBJJF Open Gi and No Gi tournaments.

Beyond competing, Jarbem has also made his mark in the professional sphere as a UFC cornerman and continues to actively coach at tournaments. He brings a passion to teaching that is unparalleled, striving to foster a positive atmosphere on the mat. Jarbem is dedicated to ensuring all his students understand at least 80% of his techniques, confident that the remaining 20% will come with consistent practice.

He fervently claims, "Nobody loves teaching grappling more than me. This title nobody takes." As our esteemed professor, he brings his wealth of experience, passion, and technical knowledge to the mat every day. You're in the best of hands learning under Professor Jarbem Ferreira Pacheco.
